The valve stem is an important part of the valve, which is used for transmission, connecting the actuator or handle, and directly driving the spool to move or rotate below to realize the valve switching or adjusting function. When the valve is in the process of opening and closing, the valve stem will be pulled up, pressed down (such as the stem of the import globe valve and the import gate valve) and twisted (such as the stem of the import ball valve and the import butterfly valve), and also bear the pressure of the medium itself, as well as the friction generated between the filler. Therefore, the selection of valve stem materials must meet the requirements of sufficient strength, toughness, corrosion resistance, abrasion resistance, and good manufacturability at specified temperatures.

Stainless steel is the most commonly used material for valve stem, such as the United States VTON stainless steel stem butterfly valve, ball valve, globe valve, gate valve, etc.
